My Amana Refrigerator won't stop running?

I have a Amana Refrigerator that I purchase about 10 yrs ago. I noticed about a week ago that it runs all the time, it won’t stop running, I read the question and answer about this same problem, now if its my thermostat, how long before should I wait to get it fixed and does anyone know about how much it will cost.

Your Refrigerator may need to be recharged with freon. When it get low there not enough to get the temp. To the diel setting. there fore the Refrigerator
works full time trying to get to that setting.

Call and have the freon recharged.

Check on the back of the fridge but before doing anything unplugged to prevent shock, get your vacuum out put the crevice attachment on it and vacuum the coil it sounds like something is preventing air from circulating and the other thing would be to move it away from the wall this is mistake that most of us make by pushing it to close to the wall and this will prevent a proper air flow , if you don’t have many things in the fridge keep it unplugged for 1 hour or until it is cooled down , if this doesn’t work you might have to call a repair person or get a new fridge they say that a fridge life is 10 years I had one that last ed me 28 but they are all different , I hope that you can fix it !

Sorry but the fridge is on its way out. It must be low on coolant so the compressor can’t work properly and get it down to temp. If it was the T-stat then your food would be freezing. If it’s not low on coolant, your compressor is failing which is the main cost of the fridge.

Fixing fridges is no longer cost effective because they have to treat the coolant like a slightly hazardous waste(destroys the O-zone). It will cost a minimum of $100 just to have someone look at it and they won’t be able to fix it cheap, if at all.

Get a fridge thermometer. When it can no longer stay below 42 degrees, buy another fridge.
